The study covers the design of a new combined wall (sheet piles and steel H-piles) to replace the existing wall: a durable structure suited to the marine environment that meets Groupe Océan’s operational needs while complying with safety and stability standards.

What the mandate includes

The steps of the mandate, from the first investigation to the final deliverable.

  1. Design of a combined wall

A combination of sheet piles and steel H-piles that replaces the existing wharf wall.

  2. Suited to the marine environment

A durable structure that meets the needs of Groupe Océan’s tugboats and barges.

  3. Safety and stability

Verification of the structure against safety and stability standards.

What is a combined wall?

A combined wall pairs steel H-piles, which carry most of the loads and soil pressure, with sheet piles, which close the space between them. This combination is common for wharves, where the wall must retain soil over a considerable height and withstand operating loads.

The existing timber wall had to be replaced with a structure built to last in a marine environment.
