Period
October 11, 2023 – January 26, 2024
Location
Saint-Antonin, Bas-Saint-Laurent

The study includes geotechnical investigations by drilling and an assessment of the dam’s resistance to hydraulic and geological pressures, to ensure the safety of the infrastructure and prevent any risk of failure.

What the mandate includes

The steps of the mandate, from the first investigation to the final deliverable.

  1. Geotechnical borehole investigations

To identify the materials in place.

  2. Assessment of the dam’s resistance

Verification of its resistance to hydraulic and geological pressures.

Why check the stability of a dam

A dam constantly holds back the thrust of the water, and its foundation must resist it without sliding or eroding. A weakness in the materials of the structure or of the soil can, over time, compromise its stability.

The study verifies that the structure withstands these pressures, to ensure the safety of the infrastructure and prevent any risk of failure.
